GDP growth accelerated in the first quarter of 2008. For the first time, quarterly GDP series were released by the National Statistical Office (NSO) in its April Monthly Statistical Bulletin, allowing more meaningful infra-annual analysis of economic growth pattern. GDP growth was 10.2 percent in the first quarter (yoy), up from 9.9 percent in the last quarter of 2007.
